Coach Jim Thrasher
Jim Thrasher grew up with lacrosse. Taught the game by his Seneca Nation Native American friends in Gowanda, New York, he was exposed to both field and box lacrosse. His two primary mentors/teachers and high school classmates went on to play major college and semi-pro lacrosse. When he attended Grove City College in the late 70′s, there was no formal lacrosse program in existence. Thrasher considers it a true privilege to have served as a Wolverine Lacrosse coach.
His lacrosse coaching career began at Shady Side Academy (SSA) in Pittsburgh, PA in the early 1980s. Under the tutelage of coaches Bob Kirkpatrick and Tom Johnson, Thrasher refined his coaching skills and increased his passion for the game. While at SSA, his team won the highly competitive CAN-AM Field Lacrosse Championship in Toronto, Canada.
Coach Thrasher currently serves as the Director of Career Services and as an Associate Professor of Humanities and Religion at Grove City College.
